Didn't bother going back due to poor maintenance of bankside vegetation and lack of choice of swims. Went to Whitney Court instead and had a much better day...see other post

3 small chub, 4/5 dace and 1 Perch.

Bank is very overgrown, hard to find any fishable swim. Also very steep and access to the water isn't possible, makes it hard to wet pellets etc. Dispointed not to have caught the Barbel I came for, although not sure how I could of landed it if I did!

Good access along the bank by car at this time of year.
River looked coloured after some rain started opposite the weir gardens in fast streamy water about 3 foot deep caught 2 small chub here.
Kept moving down till opposite boat house water slightly deeper and slower, lost 2 fish to a snag I was fishing 3/4 of the way across straight out so beware .
Lovely surroundings shall be back next year.

Lovely stretch of the Wye, pegs have been strimmed really well. 2 nice chub in the first hour but after that 7 hours without a bite! Both chub caught on luncheon meat, tried lots of other baits but no success.

Shame we didn’t catch more but a very nice part of the Wye to spend a days fishing and definitely beats work!

The river runs slow here in summer and probably better for Pike and smaller fish. The thing is, it is so over grown that it makes it really difficult to reach a decent peg. Given the price, a good day out by the owners with a powerful strummer would make the venue so much bette. Alternatively, fish it in the colder months
Fishing Passport Note : New in 2020, the barbed wire river fence has been removed and the bank side vegetation that has caused access problems in the past will be managed for the forthcoming season.
