My wife and I fished both Llyn Teifi and Llyn Hir for several hours with no hits or catches. We were well equipped with flies that had fished well on regional stillwaters in recent days. We saw only three rises over several hours and nearly no hatch activity -- small chironomid hatches toward end of day. Absolutely stunning setting but quite challenging for bank fishing. i would recommend a float tube for better chances of success.

Fished the morning only. Very few rises, quite windy. No fish caught.

2 trout caught from Llyn Gorlan. One returned and one retained.

First visit to the Teifi Pools on a beautiful and relatively calm day. Arrived late at 11am and fished all afternoon. Must have seen 4 little rises in the next 6 hours, no bites on a black gnat or a beetle. Stunning views and absolute peace more than made up for the blank!!

No fly or beetle on the water, sunny, generally grumbling anglers, happy free campers, no trout, beautiful spot? Yes. Wilderness fishing? Not really.

Bright but a nice breeze and ripple. Had really hoped to coincide with the Coch y Bonddu but not a beetle in sight nor indeed much else. The odd sedge and daddy. Saw hardly a fish rise all day but a lovely visit - pipits, wheatears, kites and whimbrel - and fish and chips in Rhayader on the way home! The fish will still be there next time.
