We started at far end of the beat and had 1 Chub at 4lb. We moved further upstream for the evening. Had 1 Chub on the pin trotting under the trees and had another 4 Chub to 5lb at dusk on the feeder. Couldn't locate the Barbel, but a great day on the beautiful and mighty Wye.

Started early just after first light, chose a swim in the wood which had a good look about it. Not a bite until 11.30 which duly managed to snag me. Caught a few Chub on free lined luncheon meat. Decided to move to the top of fishery for the evening as at my age messing about on rocks in the half light is not a good idea. Fished the disabled swim (John knows which one I mean ????) started at 6 o’clock and had an immediate bite. For 45 minutes it was constant. The chub we’re trying get to it first but managed 3 in that 45 minutes by changing to 14mm Red Robin pellets, the Chub were still getting to them so eventually put on the 20mm gobstoppers which gave the Barbel a chance. All fish bar 1 at about 3lb we’re in the 6 to 8lb range. A fantastic evenings Fishing until 9.30. This is a beautiful setting and a well maintained Fishery. Thanks John, I’ll be back (as Arnie said)

Nice venue and well maintained, good access and ropes for swims. Shame that I did not catch any Barbel just the one good chubb but had a good day on the beat. I will return.
