Split into two sections. The fishery comprises of approx. 2½ miles of mostly double bank fishing between Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth. A noted salmon fishery which includes some famous pools. The upper section is approx. ¾ mile of single (left) bank. Although relatively short, it contains three noted salmon catches, Hom Pil; Pashley’s Crib and Hom Stream. The banks can be a little overgrown in places but with waders the middle section is all wade-able over bedrock and gravel. Hom Pil and Pashley’s Crib are fishable easily from the bank.

The lower section is just over 1½ miles in length and mostly double back. Pools here include, The Rope and The Parson Tree Stream. The Ford Stream provides a lovely hour’s fly-fishing set under a backdrop of Goodrich Castle. The Marl Bed is a reputed salmon pools – wading here is easy over a mostly gravel river bed.
The banks are relatively overgrown but access points are cleared and wading is relatively easy where required.
