¾ mile of single (right) bank middle Wye coarse fishing a few miles downstream of Hereford. Holme Lacy 4 and the Elms is situated in an area of the Wye that is regarded by coarse anglers as some of the finest water the river has to offer.
The barbel and chub fishing is excellent while the beat also provides opportunities for winter pike fishing too. There is a variety of water on offer with more fast, shallow water at the top end of the fishery (The Elms), flowing through the beds of ranunculus. Towards the middle and lower parts the river generally is deeper and (in normal water heights) steadier paced. This is a very well-maintained fishery. Access to the riverbank is good with numerous swims available and reachable via steps with, in some cases, hand rails.
Anglers with 4x4 vehicles can drive to the riverbank via a track. Those with non 4x4 vehicles will have a 600m (650 yard) walk to the river.
The owners reserve the right for 2 guests to fish so exclusivity is not guaranteed.
NO SPINNING FOR COARSE FISHING ALLOWED.
Block Booking is availble on this beat. You can book all the tickets available (sometimes at a discounted price). You can only fish up to the maximum daily number of people allowed for that type of fishing.
