One and a half miles of salmon and coarse fishing on the middle Wye a few miles above Hereford. There are a few famous named Salmon Pools, and there is a faster section over bedrock at the middle of the beat, but otherwise it’s deep and slow. Due to the variety of water expect all of the favourite Wye fish species to be present including Chub, Perch and Pike. The banks are relatively overgrown, and at the top and lower end very steep, so access can be difficult in places. The middle section by Rowlands Ford does provide relatively easy access to quite a wide and productive group of swims.

New for 2018: Thanks to funding from the Angling Trust's 'Angling Improvement Fund', we have been able to install two sets of steps at the top end of the beat, to improve access to the water. The locations are marked on the beat map. If you would like any further information about the Angling Trust's grants, you can do so here

With private access in a secluded location, Marsh Court provides a perfect location for a day’s fishing on the Wye. There are several parking spots, with one (4x4’s ONLY in wet conditions) right on the rivers edge.

Block Booking is available on this beat. You can book all the tickets available. You can only fish up to the maximum daily number of people allowed for that type of fishing.
