At 7 acres, Cwm Corsiog is an excellent early season lake until the weed grows in mid summer making most of it unfishable. It can still be fished successfully after then but it is worth changing to floating lines and dry flies, casting over the weed into clear patches.

Cwm Corsiog fishes well with spinner or fly. Most traditional wet flies will catch, the best being Hares Ear Nymph, Pheasant tail nymph, Greenwells Glory and Bibio.
As for dry flies, Coch Y Bonddu, most Sedge patterns and, of course, Daddy Longleg imitations, at the right time of year.

The lake is at around 1,720 feet above sea level and 1 and a half hours walk from Tanygrisiau.

A day ticket here also covers 14 other Cambrian AA stillwaters for you to roam around in one day.
