Half a mile of left bank salmon and trout fishing a few miles below Abergavenny. The beat has 5 named salmon pools and fishes well in most water heights with both fly and spinner.
Chest waders are essential to get the best out of the fishing and the wading is difficult in places – a wading stick is essential to fish the top half of the fishery.
There is also some excellent trout fishing to be had, with fish to 3.5 lbs caught in recent years. The largest salmon in the last six years was a 32lb cock fish.
The Usk Way runs alongside the beat which is popular with walkers. There is, however, a specific area for dog swimming. This is within the beat boundaries but not in any of the pools. Parking is less than 200m from the river.
