Arrived at the river 8:00am. It was running about 3 to 4 foot over with a bit of colour but it looked good and we anticipated a productive day. We never even had a single bite all day. We tried various swims along the stretch but to no avail.....so at 4:00pm we decided to call it quits. It looks an interesting piece of river and I would like to try it again in the summer but today we were badly beaten.......nothing to report!!!

River high and rising from melt water. A lot of colour to the water. Coarse fishing with pellet. Trout about 2lbs a happy accident. Trout very silver and may possibly have been a sea trout.

Only ended up fishing for a couple of hours following a long drive and exploring the beat for the first time. Luke caught a pike just over 9lbs.

River was low although carrying some colour following recent rain. We fished numerous swims and struggled to find any feeding fish. SB took a 9lb 4oz barbel on pellet from the top of the stretch and also lost one. RB found a few barbel to 7lb in the middle section late afternoon.
All in all a tough day but thoroughly enjoyable as ever.

Barbel fishing and pike was our objective. First cast of the day a red 6lb cock salmon took AE's pike lure (quickly returned). Then for rest of day not a single bite from the barbel, or dead baiting for pike despite covering whole beat. River seemed grey and dead, water very low and clear. Just one of those days when absolutely nothing happened! The stretch seemed fishless aside from the odd salmon showing.

River low and clear , R Thomas had 1 barbel 8lb 2 and a perch around a pound in the slow water third field down from bend, enjoyable day fantastic wildlife; pellet / sweet corn used, triple corn hookbait caught barbel, worm for perch as we left at 7 pm a few barbel started topping, and flashing opposite the building with scaffold on it would be worth staying a bit later and fishing there, unfortunately 7 pm was the latest Mr Richards would pick us up and didn't fancy the walk back to the car park area!

1 Barbel, 1 Other
