It started very slowly, and unfortunately, for Chris stayed very slow with him only managing 1 Chub but Graham moved back down stream and ended the day with 6 barbel, the best being 8lb 7oz.

Had a good day on a new beat which we were expecting to find slow as we did not know the areas that produced.
Arrived at lunchtime and met Mr Richards who we must say thank you again to. His taxi service is something even us younger and fitter anglers were glad that we utilised! We would urge anyone fishing this beat to take advantage of this and he is a lovely chap as well.
We got down to the river and walked the stretch. We fancied the upstream part of the beat in the faster water. We rolled some meat to start with and had 2 chub and 1 barbel. We finally settled in a swim on pellet and bomb and began to pick of barbel steadily all evening.
This is a lovely beat with great views of the garden opposite although this could be busy and loud during the summer months and weekends. Will definitely be back!!

Thankfully we opted for a lift from the farmer (Mr Richards), that is money well spent as the walk would be a nightmare!!!!! we started off at the top end of the beat, my mate had one small barbel around the 4lb mark. I struggled for bites so moved had 1 chub around 2lb my mate had another barbel 6lb , I moved again downstream near the drop off point which really was the last fishable swim as most of the lower section is so overgrown with no swims cut out or any evidence of where they once were.. in the end I ended up with 4 chub the biggest going 5lb 6oz (p.b) my mate ended up with 6 barbel the biggest going 9lb 3oz (p.b) ...A truly beautiful place to fish with plenty of swims with easy access on the top half of the beat, the lower half unless you take a strimmer forget it!!!!!! .. Lovely days fishing with pb's for both of us , cant wait till next time!!!!

Lovely looking beat the walk was a struggle for my dad but I am used to it so wasn't a problem. I had 1 barbel at 6lb and 10 chub including a new PB of 7lb which was an absolute monster. My dad had 4 chub and 3 barbel (2x8lb and a PB of 10lb 8oz).
Now for the negatives.
Although it says 1 mile of fishing you can only fish the marked pegs in the maize field opposite The Weir NT. I walked the whole beat finding the bank completely overgrown and inaccessible in all the other fields which was a shame as there were some lovely bits of water. The canoeists were an absolute nightmare the worst i have ever experienced and had no consideration for us anglers, most of whom were highly intoxicated through alcohol and had no watercraft, very embarrassing to watch. Lastly the marked pegs were incredibly snaggy between us we lost 14 lots of complete end tackle plus a further 5 hook links. There is a lot of other anglers line in the water so care needs to be taken in swim selection.
As good as it eventually turned out I won't be coming back to this beat, harsh but very fair I think.

A great day on this stretch of river. Started 0700 hrs found fish @ 1200 hrs then caught till 1530hrs when sun came out & they stopped feeding immediately. Barbel 8lb-2oz & 8lb-7oz, Chub around 4lb-8oz. Trout was a shock on boilie! Thanks to Mr Richards who probably saved me from a coronary with the taxi ride to the river. 1 mink spotted opposite bank.

A lovely stretch of water. Only 5 barbel caught, all on pellet and feeder. Fished 2 swims from around 7am to 3pm. On a better day I'm sure we would have caught more. Note that as others have said, it is quite a long walk from the parking.
