Fished on the fly 0730 to 1330 - dry set-up. River quite low for this time of year. Some sightings of fish by other anglers on the beat.

1 Chub

No fish seen or caught. A pleasure to be out in the May sunshine.

River too high and dirty, unfishable.

9lb hen fish for Matt Cooper from the Dog Hole. Caught on a Bann Special. A few fish showing throughout the day.

1 Salmon

Disappointed with this beat. Access was difficult because the banks were overgrown and not maintained.

A good few salmon seen jumping in the deeper pools, but dark resident fish rather than runners. Caught a good bag of chub on a frances, including a 3lb specimen.

6 Chub

A warm day. The threatened rain never materialised. Water level rose marginally during the day to .509 on the Ross gauge.
There were salmon showing but not taking. Only one or two canoes seen in the early afternoon. Lovely water. It would be a fabulous beat on which to hook a salmon.
