With the wind turning to the west I thought it might warm up, but none of it. Wet, cold and no sign of fly or fish. Lost interest after a couple of hours and decided to head home early.

Arrived around 1100hrs and stayed for 3hrs. It was hard going due to the amount of water in the river and wading was difficulty due to the fast flow.
Still managed to land 3 brownies at the top end of the beat, biggest was around 1lb

Aside from the briefest of MB hatches on arrival at 11.45 the river was dead. No further fly and no interest whatsoever in a variety of nymphs presented in some very fishy looking lies. Not helped by truly appalling wind, rain and slowly rising river. Looking forward to a return in more benign conditions.

Fished for a couple of hours and then went to Talybont Resevoir due to high water conditions impacting fishing and making access difficult.

River high and a bit too coloured, also strong winds and rain. Trickle of March Browns around midday and saw the odd LDO. Very challenging and not surprised to blank. Tried dries, nymphs, spiders and a wooly bugger, but failed to move a single fish. Think this beat is one to probably avoid when the river is on the high - if fishing for trout that is. Almost all of it was inaccessible for wading during my visit.
