Approximately 20 grayling and 6 WBT all carefully returned. All on nymphs & bugs, with the most success coming on a gold head hare's ear. A beautiful beat and excellent sport. Many thanks WUF; we will be back soon!

Fished from about 10:30 to 16:00 when dusk arrived early on a dull, cold day. The conditions did not seem to affect the fish and the two of us finished with a total of 18 grayling to 18", averaging about 12", and four out of season brown trout.
Trotting maggot towards the top of the beat.

Day was a wash off after an evening of heavy rain. Must say it is a great looking stretch of river, so enticing that even the other two in my party (who had come all the way from Derbyshire) can't wait to return to this stretch for another chance to catch a grayling. Here's hoping that at the next attempt the Welsh contingent amongst them can show them how to fish .... Cymru Am Byth !!

Despite bad weather we caught around 50 fish for 3 rods! Most grayling between 25cm and 35cm, biggest around 40cm. Majority caught with French nymph and CDC dry flies. Thanks WUF!

Apart from parr and small out of season trout, 23 x grayling 10-17 inches and 1 x large chub around 4 pounds, long trotting with double and single maggot. Rather a gloomy, grey day and this beat was worked hard the day before, but grayling were still quite keen. The Irfon had settled down to a really nice fishing height, even a bit low and clear for trotting, and a few fish showing at the surface after lunch made me think of the fly rod. There are some truly lovely grayling in the Irfon this year with a high average size, four or five from this bag made 17 inches and the majority were over 15 inches. Super day.

20 plus grayling up to half a pound - 4 out of season very small brown trout, all on dries. Very dark and dank day with low clear water.
Pollution (milk?) reported to owner coming down a side stream half way through the day. A pure white solution anyway. Good service from the owner.

WUF note: please report any suspected polution immediately to the EA Hotline on 0800 807060.
