Apologies for this return being late, I thought it was done.
I only had time to fish upstream of the bridge and this was a very cold day. It took a while to find any grayling, my first 4 fish were OOS trout. Eventually I tried fishing light weight nymphs upstream and managed 6 grayling before the cold got to me and I had to warm up in the car. A great location.

Despite the cold and occasional flurries of snow and sleet, the Lyepole grayling were very obliging today. The fish seemed to be spread out and covering the water paid dividends. Nothing huge today with the biggest around the pound mark.
Most were caught on nymph and heavy bug but a hatch of what looked like LDOs started a small rise at about midday and a few came to a dry. Another surprise was a large salmon parr, around 7".
A great day in what is always a beautiful valley, whatever the time of year. The hot soup at lunchtime was a lifesaver!

The water level was still relatively low and almost crystal clear. Netted two Grayling both to Dry Flies.
A clear sunny Autumnal day on this lovely beat.
The owners of the cottage were present and kindly allowed us both to fish the cottage pool.

Arrived at 10 with the river running clearer than I've ever seen it.
Bitterly cold when exposed to the wind.
Started off above bridge fishing duo with Klink and ptn. Nothing caught in first couple of pools, so decided to go right to the top of the beat.
Had 2 six inch grayling, then one about 14.
I was then "joined" by two gentlemen who proceeded to fish above me. I stayed in the spot I was and carried on.
The other 2 were walking past me on the opposite bank, and I asked them, what ticket they were fishing on. Their English was not to good but I managed to ascertain that they too had tickets and were suprised to see me as well.
The conversation then changed when the the younger of the 2 asked if I had a problem, and if I did, "let's go". Being no spring chicken I let this ride and they continued off down the beat.
Just after this I startled a salmon which had nosed it's way into the side no more than 2 yards above me. I watched it for a minute, and as I went to get phone out for a photo it spooked.
Walking back down the beat, my new best friends had split up and were fishing the other likely spots. I continued below the bridge, there was nobody in the cottage, so was able to fish there. Managing another 7 grayling to 10 inches, all to the dry.
Phone coverage on my network appears non existent here, (it's why I go) so a call to Wye and Usk or authorities was out of the question.
