First time fishing this beat unfortunately strongest summer winds for over twenty years. River was rising rapidly with various tree parts and clumps of weed coming through. But I will be back to this lovely beat. 2 eels.

First time on the Wye, only managed 4hrs (3-7pm) partly due to BA cancelling my flight back from Spain and some serious wind and rain, that I was ill-prepared for.
Only fished the first peg of the upstream end and fed a line at 20 meters with hemp, meat and pellet. Used a traditional running line rig, switching between hookbaits, but no signs of fish, until I'd packed up, when a large fish crashed over my feed..3 lessons learnt, about the Creel, feed an Iinside line in the deeper water with less weed growth; fish onto the dark as looks like the Creel fish turn on at dusk; update wet weather gear! RIver was a bit low, so could do with the rain so hopefully next session booked on How Caple Court will be better.

Never fished the stretch before. Quite uniform but looked nice regardless.
Weather was in the upper 20's so decided against waders & fished from the bank.
We struggled initially but found the fish a few pegs from the end of the stretch on a long cast to the far bank trees, landing & losing a string of fish from 4:30pm til dark.
Best fish was 8lb which pulled the rod in due to a tangle on the tip but a fearless tuck & pike retrieved it quickly!!
All fish taken on small pellets banded to a 14's or 12's hook to a long hooklink... Up to 6ft.
Many Thanks.

Only grabbed few couple hours in the morning before the long drive home, so missed the evening bonanza. The water level was dropping and becoming gin clear - roved around trudling meat between the swans for a couple of Chub
