Nil return. Driven off by the wind eventually. Thanks Terry for the advice - much appreciated.

Great conditions this week end. Fair weather and the water clear with a good flow which is holding well enticed a few rods out. Alastair Campbell hooked and lost a fish on the Island stream on beat 3. The fish straightened out the hooks on his shrimp fly. In the afternoon, Stuart Smith saved the day with a 12lb fish from the gravel bar on beat 4. Plenty of good trout taken and all returned.

36" hen fish taken on spinner. Water dropping to 2' on the Llanstephan gauge and clearing.

Superb conditions on the river and the first return visit to the Estate saw season permit holder Geoff Tyler try for a salmon on this pleasant afternoon. Fishing Loxters pool left bank, he encountered a very large fish which took his fly fished close to the bottom. The fish was in control throughout the ten minute encounter which ended with a straightened hook. The only rod on the estate this week. Geoff will be back soon to try again.

lovely beat with plenty of water to explore, we moved around all day hoping to find the fish. SM had one nice 10lb pike and MH had a small jack of around 3lb both taken from beat 5 in the slacker water. spotted a few nice barbel in beat 2 and wished we had brought our barbel gear!.
Still a pleasure to be on this part of the Wye thanks W&U

River low & clear.Spent afternoon walking the beats,only fished the last 2 hours before dark & unfortunately blanked.

No pike today ..

22lb 4 oz pike taken today, all quiet apart from the one take.
