Plenty of salmon jumping but nothing caught on spinner or fly except a couple of trout. Lovely beat though!

2 Trout

Back on the same beat I have caught 60 fish in 4 sessions this year. The conditions were low and clear so not ideal for static bait fishing but I caught some fantastic chub on rolling meat and a blob of plasticine as a weight. I did lose to very big barbel on my feeder rigs to the snags (where they hide in these low water conditions).
Another great day on this stretch and building a picture now of what works when....I will be back.

Great time had by all. Lovely spot to fish and between us we had 15 chub from 2lb-5lb but only one Barbel this trip at 6 1/2 lb. Fished mainly beat 4 and 5. Great advice from Terry as always making us feel welcome and giving us up to date local knowledge.

Many thanks to Terry Ward for making me so welcome, giving me an easy beat to fish. I am afraid I failed to connect with a fish, but a cracker showed opposite the house at the end of the day,Thanks also to the staff at the foundation for sorting the beats. Be back in September to try again.

First time in over 20 years I've fished for salmon on the Wye and this lovely stretch of water with well kept river banks, so I was very rusty with my fly casting and I think my tackle has seen better days. Saw a large coloured fish several times just above the house and a silver fish higher upstream.

2 grayling caught with Pheasant Tail nymph. River in good condition with an abundance of small fish and crustaceans.

Fantastic bit of river. Unfortunately I hooked 2 definite barbel and lost them as well as the one I landed.

What a lovely place. The drive to the beat 5 car parking is so pleasant. Fished beats 4 and 5 on a river fining down but still a foot too high for float fishing.
We had 17 chub, 3 barbel and 1 trout(on pellet) mostly on feeder and meat. Some came to pellet.
Saw some salmon anglers who were extremely friendly. Would love to go back when river slightly lower to explore this beautiful stretch.

Another great day following on from the previous week where I had 15 barbel 10 or so chub and three trout. This time the river was on the rise and in flood. I had another 7 barbel to 9 lbs 6 oz. Due to floods I chose to fish the margins with meat or boilies wrapped in paste...
I seen many goosanders unfortunately feeding. I will return superb beat!!
