Sunny and warm day with the temperature hitting 15C and a pleasant upstream cool breeze.
A decent hatch of March Browns from midday to 1pm plus a few olives and the odd MB hatching in the afternoon.
Fish were mostly feeding on emergers.
Saw a mink on the opposite bank and a mother duck protesting trying to keep her ducklins safe.
We cast at some very picky fish that rejected our offerings and we had a few fish the biggest one hitting to 2 lb mark.
All fish were caught on dries and were in excellent condition.
A most memorable day!

Good LDO hatch late afternoon for a couple of hours, lots of rising fish in the faster water.

2 in the morning on nymphs, the rest on dries during the hatch.

Great day on the river. Two trout on dry fly and one taken on a nymph.

Brief (30 mins) March brown hatch from 1, with fish rising sporadically in the afternoon. Beautiful fishing in stunning surroundings

MB hatch around 1pm for about half an hour. Fish rising to them and sporadically for another hour after that. Five trout on dry MB. All fish returned

Lovely day. Caught 2 good size WBT (16-20 inches) on PTN and 2 others got off. Moderate hatch around midday and fish rising in places but no luck with the dry fly.

Mid morning to noon, 4 fish on nymphs, best 1lb 2oz.
LDO's started hatching in numbers about 1pm and the river was alive with rising fish. Landed 13 fish up to 2.5lb and lost several more, all on dries. About 3.15pm dark clouds arrived accompanied by rain and a cold downstream wind. Rising stopped, so too did I.
An excellent days fishing.

Overcast; Air temp 4C with a cold northerly breeze. The good news is the first swallows have arrived! Not sure what they were eating - no fly life active in the river. Gave it a couple of hours and retired frozen!
