Sultry overcast day with a gentle breeze. River low with algae build up in slow flowing areas. Southern arm of the river which flows around the ‘island’ at the bottom of Dinas now a trickle.
15 minute hatch of olives at 14:30 caught the attention of the martins but not the fish. Same with hatch of pale wateries around 17:00.
Three WBT on PTN fished on the edge of the fast water at the top of the beat

Great day fishing, mainly using emergers had many takes and a few fish. Stunning scenery, most of the action being late evening.

Weather very mixed, brilliant sunshine one minute, blowing a gale or tipping down the next.
That having been said, the fishing was good. 4 wbt (largest 1.5lb) - two on gold head nymphs, two on shuttlecock emergers. Missed several positive surface 'takes' and lost a further two fish.

Brilliant day. The rain helped in the evening. Had six fish the largest around a pound and in mint condition. All put back where they belong. Good fly life in patches but as it went dark the river was boiling and was really good sport.

Good hatch and caught one WBT on a dry fly and one on a heavy hare’s ear in the faster water. Hooked a few other fish but didn’t get them to the net.

Had a day on Dinas and Abercynrig - water was low but not low, low. Conditions were hot but overcast at times. Not fished Dinas before but some lovely water - a nice mix of glides, pools and runs. Had several fish at Dinas but a lot more at Abercynrig as I fished there in the evening when the hatch and rise was superb. 16 fish at Abercynrig. Most fish 3/4lb but some over a 1lb and one of 2lb. All on dry fly.

River very low now (just above zero on the Brecon gauge) and with rafts of floating brown algae in the slack parts, but masses of fly life and quite a few fish moving. No takers in the sunny hours but I took two small fish (returned) in the faster water of the bottom pool in the evening with very small nymphs. Birds included spotted flycatchers, a family of grey wagtails and three baby redstarts. I love this beat, but I'm not so keen on the constant flow of walkers and gawpers on the far bank in fine weather - one couple sat down to a picnic on the edge of the bank opposite and watched me expressionlessly for half an hour without so much as a wave. I felt like asking them for their tickets. And while I was trying to photograph the wagtails a hiker talking on his phone wandered down to the edge of the rocks where the birds were (or had been), ignored my request to move and rabbited on for 20 minutes until I left him there with a less-than-polite gesture. I'll be back of course, perhaps when it's raining...

Great beat, saw plenty of fish and had quite a bit of interest from them but never landed one.
