What a day,

Big hatch throughout the day - fish hesitant to rise but taking a nymph quite readily, two larger fish lost but biggest 1lb 8oz.

Stayed on for the evening rise, sadly didnt really happen it started and ended within about 3 minutes at about 6.15 - stayed on the river until 8 hoping but not much moved.

First fish with a New Zealand strike indicator set up on a copper John point fly. Fish soon started rising to MB’s and good hatch of LDO’s so the dry fly rod claimed the second and third fish on various jingler patterns.

Nice stretch of water. A few fish were rising but no significant hatch. I caught five trouts up to 12 inches on nymphs and wetflies.

Great directions and information. Quite a short 1/2 mile beat which is probably best fished in slightly lower water than today to be able to fish the full stretch. A lovely beat!

Cool with a difficult downstream (NW) breeze, but a bit of sun. No significant hatch or rise. The duo worked to an extent in the riffles, with 5 fish from 12 to 16 inches (all on weighted PTN (16)).

Hooked up with 3 nice fish on heavy nymphs but only got one to the net which was returned safely. No significant hatch and very few fish rising.
