River levels much better. Caught tail end of a hatch with a few rises and again no takers on nymph or dries. Worked upstream from Lower end of beat to the Penpont estate. We gave it our all but again another fruitless day. Shame.

Disasterous day with no hatch seen. River still low and nothing rising. Shame today turned out this way but my fellow angler did take an early bath much to my amusement. We go again.

Nothing going on. Saw 3 olives hatch all day and saw no rises at all. Water level as low as I've ever seen.

Low water. Occasional rain and intermediate winds. No hatch seen. One bite but nothing coming to the surface. Few rises towards the end of the day around 6.30pm.

A good day for excuses. Low clear river, bright sun, downstream wind. Decided not to fish pool by bottom field due to holidaymakers. A sparse hatch at one thirty brought trout out to play but all too brief for this angler. Disappointing to note the amount of algae covering the stones of the river. Typical sign of organic enrichment.

Had a brief March Brown hatch with a few fish taking them . Very windy again ….difficult casting ….
