A bit of rain, a lift in levels and much cooler water temps. A few olives around, and spinners at dusk so all good. These trout are tricky to catch though!

This beat is slippery due to algae and wading is very difficult. Caught one small but beautiful fish in Dry fly.

Beautiful setting with some very nice scenery. Variety of water with some nice glides and fast runs including broken water. Very difficult day with water levels low and gin clear water. Only managed two trout between us. Lots of potential and some good fish seen, just couldn't get near them.

Kingfishers, dippers with chicks, kite and buzzards but no flying insects and no rising trout. A beautiful beat

Fantastic stretch of river but a downstream breeze, incredibly bright conditions and low water, not to mention my own incompetence, loaded the dice against me. Very good levels of fly life much appreciated by the nesting Dipper, Flycatchers, and Wagtails

River low and clear with very little hatching. All fish caught using long leader contact nymphing. Largest fish was just under 19”.
