Fished from 6 pm till dark. River very low! Good hatch but little activity and then only around 8pm for half an hour. Lovely scenery and thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

Very hot and bright day so waited until late evening and a full moon. Lots of insect life but few rises. Tried every technique known to man to land a fish and was finally rewarded at 10 pm with a 10 oz fighter! A truly magical beat.

Evening start at about 6pm. A few small fish rising in the very clear a low water. Sat on the bank and watched a few small part chase nymphs around the shallows, showing there silver flanks as they turn in and out. Decided to fish long leader with lightly weighted nymphs in the faster water and caught three smallish fish of between 7" and 10". Then plenty of missed takes that kept the interest level up. Around 8ish the bwo spinner fall began and the bigger fish started to show. After missing about 5 fish from the same pool I moved to find a solitary rising fish dead centre of a run. Initially I assumed it being another small fish until my semi circle spinner floated over it with my first cast and "BOOM" It took of full throttle up stream and screaming line. My three wt rod took a hammering for about 15 mins until I slipped my net under a very plump and firm 18" full finned fish. after I returned it still full fit I took another a few yards up, but about 8" smaller. Great evening

A recennoitre rather than a fishing session to get to know the river at the current extremely low levels. Walked and watched for a couple of hours intending to come back in the evening but didn't make it back!

Very nice river. Not many fish showing and nothing caught today. 2 canoeists came through the beat which was annoying and had parked there car at one the parking areas on the beat!

Fished about 7 to 10pm hoping for an evening rise. Water low and clear. There were a few fish apparently sipping on emergers (not mine), and I had a couple of abortive takes on a size 10 Goddard's sedge late on, but the 10pm sedge hatch/rise failed to materialise. A bit too early in the year?
