Very difficult conditions with heavy rain and water rising throughout the day by 3ft. Managed to catch 12 brownies size 9-12" using gold head cats whiskers. WUF helpful as usual. Thank you! All fish safety returned.

Nasty downstream wind for most of the day. Mainly overcast with a wet afternoon and sunny evening. River very low. Little fly apart from a few Yellow Mays, and sedges and some spinners later on. Few rises all day. Most fish caught were non-risers. Over 40 grayling, half a dozen small trout, lots of parr and a few chublets. Most grayling ~9 inches but at least fifteen in the 12-14 inch bracket. All in good nick. Most taken on emergers.

Nice day out, mix of rain and sun cold wind etc.

2 nice greyling and a fat 9" trout. All on spiders, down and across in the fastest water I could find, just below the first set of planks. Did not see anything move all day, klinkhammer and nymph did not work for me. Very pleasant day, plenty of buzzards and kingfishers as well.

Every time I am on this beat I meet someone interesting, last time it was a South African, this time it was a Russian....

Water very low, warm bright day. Very few fish moving but we did manage to catch plenty of grayling, a few around 14 in, small brown trout, salmon parr, dace, and chub. Lovely day on the river, only down side we missed dinner at the pub the chef stopped serving at 9pm.

A low clear river, a cold downstream breeze, little insect life - occasional BWO, female yellow may duns and pale wateries. A recipe for a struggle?

Perhaps someone should have told the fish! 39 fish to 2 rods, all on parachute dries. 20 wild brownies - about half were tiddlers but 2 x 16" best fish and 18 grayling - mostly peas from a pod, 10-12" but all with the most wonderful blue and violet hues. Oh - and one small dace.

Ty Newydd delivers the goods once more - many thanks! We need some rain though....

2 trout best 9", 4 grayling best 10 inches. I saw a flock of goosanders approx 40 in number, fishing in one pool. Can anything be done about these predators?
