Dry fly Best trout 13 ins

8 Trout, 5 Grayling

Lots of granom flying although very little hatching, think they came off the day before.
A few fish rising especially in the morning to egg layers. Temperature suddenly dropped in the late afternoon, and ended the sport after a glorious hot sunny day.
Trout to about 10 inch, and a few out of season grayling, some of the larger fish looked a little worse for ware presumably after spawning.

Very wet day but river in fair condition. All fish taken on variety of dry flies.

Cold downstream wind with very little fly life, enjoyable but hard going

Nothing seen or caught. Had a lovely day though.

Unfishable. River was up and heavily coloured

Llanstephen gauge at 18 inches and Erwood gauge at just over a metre. Fished hard all day trying both tight line and suspender tactics with weighted PTNs but was unable to locate the grayling who perhaps were in deeper water than I could wade. River running exceptionally clear.

Frozen!! Thick fog minus 2 degrees, good to get away from the TV though. Nothing to report, happy new year to all at the WUF see you in the spring!
