Great day and great beat, wading is tough going in places but was a good workout for the legs. The morning was slow going possibly cause I was hell bent on using my newly tied north country spiders. I was only on the river from 10am - 13:30pm and picked up 2 on NCS fishing downstream. As I was about to leave the place came alive with rising fish everywhere so tied on a EHC and one took it straight away, immediately I knew it was big but was still shocked at the size when I got it to the net. Love this beat it’s beautiful

Excellent fishing - casting to rising fish was a challenge with a gusty downstream wind, but lots of fun. good to see the river with a bit more water in it coming down from the Pennines after the recent rain. all 8 fish taken on #18 DH caddis - 12' leader and 3' of 0.14mm 6x tippet

Wonderful day - fish very active, rising all day. Olives and sedges in the air. finally figured it out - extra long leader/tippet. DH Caddis in the feed lanes and beetles under the trees. 3 to the net, 3 lost of thrown hook and 2 lost to snaps (which was v frustrating I can tell you), missed many more
3 Trout, 1 Grayling
