Fished 8am to 8pm. Groundbait and pellet feeder. River running low and very clear with clear blue sky, not ideal. Both fish came late afternoon.

Fished from 7am until 12.30pm when the rain set in. River was low and clear not best conditions for barbel. Hopefully the rain in the afternoon and overnight should bring the river to life

Fished from 7.30am to 9.30 pm. Fished very slow all day with only 1 2lb chub and 1 4lb barbel. Then as it was getting dark 2 larger Barbel one at 7lbs and one at 8lb were landed and another lost at the net. Normal barbel fishing with low clear water. They move and feed at night!

All 4 chub were caught using a halibut pellet hair rigged to a size 12 hook on a 3 foot hook length connected to a 3oz feeder on 15lb line. I used a 1.75lb test curve rod and a Shimano baitrunner reel. Fish sizes were 1 x 8oz and 3 x 3.5/4lb.
I had to move swims due to a large number of horses having a race on the gravel bank up stream of my swim which were followed by two ladies going for a swim 50m from from my swim.

I was very surprised to find the river up by at least 2ft and horribly coloured. There had been no recent rain which was a bit confusing. I later discovered that a dam had been opened somewhere to facilitate a flush through. Fishing was a struggle and combined with the hot conditions, I packed up at around 2pm.
(WUF note: the extra water was due to rain up country)

Another great day at Caradoc, the weather was perfect for a spot of touch ledgering in the shallows, all fish caught on pellets, thank you WUF for having this great beat on your books.

All caught on standard Wye feeder tactics, caught steady all day fishing the slightly deeper faster runs. Was a hot day with the river running clear.
