7 barbel caught mostly on pellet and all in the afternoon. All fish came in the afternoon before and during the rain. We were rained off about 18:30 absolutely soaked and with the river rising again!
Disappointed again to find other anglers on the bank when we expected to have the beat to ourselves.

WUF Note : Caradoc is a beat allowing 4 individuals.

Arrived at beat at lunchtime and fished until 18.00. River in good condition after recent floods. Plenty of water but was clearing nicely. Four Barbel caught on the very large halibut pellet, 4.13lb, 4.13lb, 6.14lb and 8lb 3oz. Thanks WUF.

Another good day on this excellent beat. Had the place to ourselves so tried half a dozen pegs between us. Very good day again but strange pattern to the catches. At every peg landed a barbel with the first two casts then went quiet until I changed bait - size of pellet, meat, type of pellet all worked. Good number of barbel up to 10.5lb and about the same number of chub, nothing large but all in the 3-3.5lb range. Caught on elipse pellets (8 & 12ml), meat and even a couple on sweetcorn. First cast on the beach was smashed up by something - despite 15lb mainline and 12lb hooklink! And one not so pleasant experience - saw my first (very large) otter on the Wye but all in all another great day on this excellent Wye & Usk beat.

Tough days fishing, no fish caught. Fished a few different swims but no joy. Lovely surroundings, will be back.

Beautiful sunny day. Caught 2 barbel (biggest 7lb), 2 eels and a chub. Water was very coloured after a lot of rain.

Fishing slow! Had 13 barbel and 1 chub as on Hallibuts.
Keep your eyes on the cows!

No fish caught by either angler due to adverse conditions, river height, rate of flow and colour.

No salmon caught but a number of decent pulls. River in good condition but a bright and sunny day. Fish showing, particularly in the croys at the top of the beat, plenty of canoes but all polite.

3 barbel and 1 chub.

Due to poor sport on the previous day, our group fished another day ticket water, this is by no means a reflection on Caradoc, and I am sure we will return there in the future.
