We fished just down stream of the end of beat marker. The river was running slow and clear, we fished feeders with 6mm pellets and 8mm on the hook. I had one, the other angler had 2 fished until 4pm.

Fantastic day. Trotting small banded pellet/corn/bread produce a healthy bag of chub approaching 100lb. Lost a couple of barbel on the float but bagged three on the feeder 6-8pm.
Nice long stretch of varied water with a good number of swims. Some steep banks down to water though so if you're not that agile take a rope or avoid the lower end.
Also an abundance of salmon leaping, good fish in the 10 to 20lb range.

Keep up the good work WUF!
Would definitely return

River looked good, not too low, a bit of colour. Between us we fished all accessible areas of the beat. No access to the river in the bottom meadow, most pegs are at the top of the beat where the access is excellent. No chub, no barbel all day for either of us. Looking at the feedback some anglers do really well on this beat but this was our second visit without a Barbel so it will be a while before we are tempted back to this beat.

It was my first time on the River Wye, I fished the Middle Hill Court stretch. I did not catch any barbel but I caught two chub at 3lb 4oz and 3lb 10oz. Both fish came to robin red pellets, fished approx 2 rod lengths out in some slack water. I fished the cage feeder with halibut flavoured ground bait.
I will definitely be back. Great venue and hopefully the river will yield me my 1st barbel.

Much needed rain graced my day, all day. A fine chub from the lower stretch on float fished breadflake and a good eel of about 4lb late on from the last swim of the stretch next to Vanstone pool. Warning This peg is extremely snaggy.

What a difference a day makes from full sun to howling storm. The river had lots of visitors from double kayak six man racing teams to a swimmer who swam up and down the river!
Caught three barbel to seven and a half pounds as I had the day before and two chub. All caught late in the day on pellet.
In the middle and lower sections of this stretch there is a need for some additional access to the water.

River and weather good on the Saturday with boat traffic to carnival levels. Fished for chub on the float and flake - caught 6 and then when the canoes stopped coming down, caught three barbel at the end of the day to seven and a half pounds on pellet. Many thanks to D.B. from Winchcombe for his instruction. I hope to meet him on the bank one day.

Good day despite weather conditions. Trotting using banded pellets was the order of the day. REALLY in need of a decent down pour to flush the river through and increase the water level.
