River very high still but fishable. 3 barbel caught, 2 double figures, 1 eight pound. 4 Chub, 1 over 4lb 1 at 4lb, 2 at 3lbs plus. Bailiff met on site and saw photographs of first barbel & chub.
Method: 1st two fish taken on legered heavy swim feeder with 2mm pellets halibut pellet with paste wrap hook bait.
Other fish taken with similar method using PVA Mesh filled with 8mm pellets and pellet hook bait with Salmon oil or Halibut oil dip and paste wrap.
All fish returned alive and swam off full of life. All Barbel and Chub rested before release.

Nil. It was worth phoning the guide and getting his advice on where to fish as walking along the banks and getting to the river was extremely hard work in the dense foliage. Great spot for fly fishing in the Ford Stream but no Salmon in there. Lots of Mayfly but no trout taking them? One of those days, but I still enjoyed it and I liked the fact that I made the decision to go in the morning and was able to book everything on line quickly.

Didn't fish due to a "wash-off" - river was flooded, fast running, brown and murky!

No fish caught or seen -- except a pike on the far bank which leapt out of the water in fright when a spinner hit it directly on the back. Thanks to WUF.

Lovely day with the river in decent shape to flyfish. Vanstone pool too deep to wade though. No touches but canoe traffic was fairly light

Another beautiful day of fishing on the Wye! Started fishing fishing around 11am working my way down from the Vanstone Pool at the top of the beat. Had several pulls on the fly from here and the long section below but no catches to report. More pulls from Rope Pool too but again nothing stuck. So what do you do...? Decided that today was not mine on the salmon so spent the rest of it stalking trout in the Ford Stream. Fantastic sport on the dry and nymph producing two stunning 1.5lbs browns. Both returned. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

B.B. landed a kelt of 27 inches on a Willie Gunn tube and shortly afterwards had a springer of approx 15lbs. The salmon had frayed through the leader. A lesson learnt -change the leader after every fish!
R.C lost a small springer at the bottom of Vanstone Pool; the fish rose to a small gold spoon but shook itself clear before the hooks could be set.
Shortly before dark the river seemed to come to life and Ben B caught two pike, both on a bronze Toby. One of around 6lbs and the other much larger, measured at 39 inches.
Many thanks to Seth and all at Wye and Usk.
