Fished Middle Hill Court on the 29th July, water level was very low. I had 1 barbel about 5lbs, plus 3 chub to about 4lb. My friend had 3 barbel to about 5 - 6 lb, also a couple of chub to about 4lb. I fished here last year & had an excellent day. I can only put it down to the river level. I also found remains of someones poaching. Two home made bank sticks of tree branches & three areas of feathers of pigeons. Where I fished also was an empty packet for a night glow for the end of a rod, also the vegetation was knocked right down to hide who ever was there.

18th - I caught 8 barbel to 7:15 and my friends caught 3 barbel and 2 chub, and 1 barbel and 1 chub respectively.
19th - I had 6 barbel to about 7lb and 3 chub of about 2lb. Others caught 4 barbel to 8:04 and 1 barbel respectively. We fished the Vanstone pool area. It's a fantastic swim but I did feel a little uncomfortable fishing two days for a shoal which is obviously subject to a great deal of angling pressure. This was reinforced when I caught the same fish twice. Are there stretches of the Wye where the barbel are more spread out?
All in all I had 22 barbel over 3 days so was very happy with my first visit to the Wye. Fabulous river and surroundings - we will be back. Thanks to WUF for good service.

4 Anglers had 24 Barbel a few chub and an eel on a variety of baits between us.
Still a little dissappointed that so much of the river here is unfishable due to the dense foliage.

Fished for a couple of hours in the morning at the bottom end where there are small rapids in the oxygenated water and managed a Chub and a Barbel, returned around 5 pm until dark, the Chub were biting every now and again and I had about 5 or 6. Then the Barbel moved in around 8.30pm and I caught a further 5 fish including a 4 pounder, which was the hardest fighter of them all.
Good luck to everyone fishing as its the toughest I have known it on the Wye. Back in September hopefully when there is more water in the river and the conditions are more conducive to fishing rather than sunbathing.

Very hot and sunny day fished about 4 hours in the morning for one chub and one barbel fishing both at the top and bottom of the beat, very tough going.
Returned at 5 pm and had seven more barbel to 10.3 lb and a few chub. Strangely as the sun went down I couldn't buy a bite - looks like the popular swims have been getting hammered and didn't produce on this day.

An oddly difficult day. Barbel reluctant to play in any of the usual swims. Caught a couple of 2lb class chub and lost both of the two barbel tempted.

We caught 2 chub of about 2pounds each, swims were generally low, no evidence of barbel, lots of weed, tried on pellet and meat, the latter being more productive. Lot's of salmon around, next year will fish a little lower. But what a gorgeous place!
