1 Barbel, 7 Chub

Fished down the bottom for day 2, 4 chub came out of the bottom pool on boilie and meat, all 3 to 4lbs, tried 4 other swims where ropes helped access, no luck.

A reasonable day with two decent Barbel coming our way, both on pellet.

2 Barbel

Fished 3 or 4 swims on top section 10am to 3pm, no luck for JD on pike rod with deadbait or for me on feeder rod with boilie and meat. River up at 2m, water temp v cold

Worse day fishing of my life. Only one fishable swim which had nothing. Slippery banks meant it’s probably best I didn’t catch anything. Lugged my gear up one mile stretch and back to find fishable swims and only found one. River was high, had emailed on Thursday to ask what to do if river high and received no response. Called number repeatedly and no answer. Was visiting river wye for my 40th birthday, absolutely gutted.

river in good condition but the banks were very slippery after the floods. I had the majority of fish on maggot feeder best chub on a paste wrapped dumb bell at 4 lb 12 oz . all other chub from 2 lb to 3 lb 8 oz 2 Barbel both about 7 lb. 9 chub and 2 barbel for me ,my friend John had 6 chub to 4 lb 10 oz and 2 barbel best at 8 lb 4 oz all caught on paste wrapped boilie.

Hard day.River very high and fast. Keeping bottom difficult resulting in a check book and pen!

River very high and coloured. A few knocks but that was about it. First time I’ve blanked on this beat. I’ll be back again hopefully in better conditions!
