7 degrees and overcast when we arrived with 1.93m on the Ross gauge and an 8.9 degree water temp.
2 started down the bottom and one up the top. The one up the top tried 2 swims and blanked. One of those down the bottom had one chub from 3 swims and then had 3 chub up the top (flavoured meat). The remaining angler had a great day with 2 small barbel (4 & 5.08) and 21 chub to 4.08 (mostly 10mm halibut or meat. I guess it will take until the river drops (cold dry spell coming up) for the fish to spread out again.
Still a beautiful autumn day on the Wye and great to chat with Steffen too. Thank you WUF.

Much better day, thanks to Adam at Fishers in Ross. Put me on a decent swim and gave me some great advice and topped me up with bait. Had about 12 chub, lost count and one dace. Chub ranged from a few ounces to a couple of pounds. Sadly no barbel this time but in the words of Arnie....I'll be back.

Bad day, river thumping through, couldn't hold bottom with a 4oz feeder or 6oz lead even just off the slack. Had 1 eel.

Another lovely day on the Wye, very mild, river was pushing through, most fish caught from the bottom swim which has a big slack, last chance Barbel from top end, all fish caught on Robin red pellet, fantastic autumn scenery, very enjoyable day.

River level up 1.2 metres overnight and really pushing through so was not expecting much success. However had a challenging but really enjoyable day. Chub all over 4lb and barbel at 8.5 & 9.5lb. All fish caught in bottom field, rod length out, in crease on meat / pellet.

River up and rising. Most swims very unfishable due to high river levels and extremely fast flow. Found one area where it was slack enough to fish, and managed to catch a few. A dry and sunny day and a lovely location none the less.
