Water was low and clear. No luck targeting the pike so switched over to trotting some maggots which produced two lovely chub of over 2lbs each.

Disappointed to learn from the bailiff that this is in fact not double bank fishing. Consensus seems to be that the pike fishing has been very tough for a number of years.

Fishing Passport Note : Middle Hill Court is a double bank fishery. Whilst access is restricted to left bank only, mentioning double bank will give anglers the information that no-one will be fishing opposite.

2 Chub

My last outing of the season and I managed to blank. Roll on June !

Targeted pike but no joy. A lovely stretch of river will definitely be back.

A blank but enjoyable day

Lovely day on the river as usual.

Water still low and clear by winter standards but mild conditions meant the fish fed steadily from midday onwards.

Ben - 4 Barbel to 8lb and 4 Chub to 4lb 12oz.

Mitch - 3 Barbel to 8lb 8oz, 2 Chub to 4lb 5oz and 1 bonus Grayling.

Bruce - 12 Chub to 4lb 14oz and 1 Barbel 7lb 13oz.

Had a crack at the pike in the morning but no action to report.
Thanks again to Stefan for the excellent swim maintenance.

A lovely stretch of river but yet again neither of us had a touch, we used meat and pellets, nothing, i think I'll wait for the summer now.
