Really enjoyed fishing this beat for the first time even though it was only for a couple of hours in the evening. Lucky for me that I managed to find fish on my first cast!

Arrived at about 7.30am and caught 2 chub in quick succession.
Then the abstraction pump started , managed to put up with it for a couple of hours before moving.
The river was low, yet reasonably coloured, but there wasn't a cloud in the sky, so the prospects for the main part of the day were not looking good.
The catch rate reflected this, with the remaining fish all coming after 6pm.
Pellet and feeder accounted for all fish caught, which included an Eel!
Over all an enjoyable day, shame we couldn't fish into the night, like the anglers on the opposite bank.
Thank you to the Wye and Usk foundation for another good day.

Needed a bit more water on......difficult conditions today. 4 anglers zero fish, not a single bite between us. Not many pegs available in the deeper water section. Disappointing but still a great day out.

A hard day, downstream wind and loads of streamer weed flowing down so difficult to hold bottom with a feeder. River v low. A nice location so will be back. Only 2 bites between us. Pump noisy in the morning but fortunately shut down for the afternoon.

O fish, 30* heat and a thousand canoeists. Not much fun today and very few fishable swims on this beat as very overgrown and lots of weed. Won’t fish this beat again

Another fantastic day on the river Wye ! Fished this beat many times and it always delivers from top to bottom , The weather was scorching , which made me a bit apprehensive but the fish were biting steady all day long .
Fished from 12pm till 8:30 using usual pellet and feeder tactics , Nice to see our good friend Anguilla , who made an appearance, the Wye seems to hold many eels which is good as numbers have declined in recent years .
Can’t wait to return next year

Block booked the Beat. River up 3ft and fairly coloured. We fished at the top end. A bit disappointing fishing wise as conditions seemed perfect. Looking forward to a week of fishing on this lovely river. Whitehouse is one of my favourite beats despite the mud bath through the farm yard !
