What an excellent day, great beat, well maintained and full of trout. Arrived at 11am and at Owners suggestion a march brown hatch started at 11.30. Trout rising all over the Rock pool and bridge flats. Lost 3 during that rise and then had to wait until later in the afternoon for next rise on which I banked 3. Two were circa 1lb mark. Lots of Granum all day skimmimg over the surface. Best when the wind died a little.

Fantastic Mid day session. Fish were straight up on top to March browns about Mid day. Caught two on spider pattern and then changed to dry. Proceeded to catch 7 more. Had to leave mid afternoon sadly. Rock pool and Bridge pool Flats provided the sport. Banks were immaculate.

I'll be back.

Lovely spring day on the Upper Wye. Llanstephan gauge at around 2’, river clear with visibility of 3ft.
Fished the main spring pools twice with a mix of flies off a medium sink tip. Water temp around 8C and warmed a little through the day.
Trout were a by catch. one thin, two in good shape.
Probably a bit early yet for a salmon as none off the river so far.
The hut was very comfortable and beautifully situated above the Mill Pool.
