Arrived to find a warm still morning with fish moving to the grannom. Watched 2 big fish under the bridge for ages moving and feeding. And that was our mistake as a cold north wind sprung up killing the rise. The fish played with us but without a grannom pattern of note it was a struggle for the rest of the day. Most fun was had with wets in the faster water above the bridge with grayling of about 120z doing there best pretending to be huge trout. Caught 10 or so grayling between us and a range of small trout and parr. Only a few to the dry though, despite covering quite a few fish, I think you need to be more exact in your pattern when the weather turns iffy. David fell (again)in to make it more entertaining as well. Interesting beat, river needs a clean out.

First look at this beat lovey water and with the river so low you could see every rock! I fished down through but did not connect with anything but a couple of good trout and a small pike. RP was after the trout and managed to rise many fish without hooking one! Came back for another look on Wednesday and fished most of the morning before it started to snow very heavily, and I could no longer feel my hands!

First trip out this season. River very low for March. Clear skies and unseasonally warm tempratures meant fishing conditions not good!

Fly lift started early and the LDO hatch was done and dusted by around 1pm. Caught well from the off with more than 20 Trout coming to hand with fish from 6" to 17", average fish 12". Great day, lovely bit of water and well worth a visit!

I caught 10 Brownies and 10 Grayling. All fish returned. I caught the Browns and most of the Grayling on a size 16 grhe, and also a couple of Grayling on a Klinkhammer.
It was a brilliant day - I really appreciate the help/advice received at WUF. Apologies for the delay in the return but I have had neither internet or phone access (at Craswall). Thanks again, it was a real privilege.

Mild, cloudy day but river as lovely as ever, fished 11am until 4pm on the gravel catch, bridge pool and the flats. Lost a large WBT in bridge pool, 7 Grayling landed, lovely condition and large in size, best 2lb (my biggest yet!). Many thanks to beat owner and WUF, great day.

Made it to the river 4.00pm 1'9" falling, coloured
Caught a very lively fish in the Rock pool, turned out to be a coloured cock fish, a little bigger than last weeks, of perhaps 15lb, again unhooked in the water with no fuss.
Leaves beginning to become a problem.
2 trout of about 1lb (in superb condition) also took the silver stoat.
