I badly underestimated the last 48 hours rainfall and arrived at 10.30 to find the beat unfishable.
Chucked a spinner for half an hour and drove home.

Note to WUF.
The Llanstephan gauge is important to anglers travelling some distance to fish the upper river. Even more so now with the cost of petrol and diesel !
Could you prioritise it’s repair/ replacement please?

Had a couple of hours out on the Rectory stretch. River has dropped a good 6 inches from yesterday so it was looking good. Fished the main Rectory pool saw nothing touched nothing, then went up to the mill pool, half way down bang into a fish of about 10lbs had it on for two minutes thrashing on the top when the spinner came loose .
