Amazing day and my first time on the Wye! Loved it and thank you

Very hot and sunny and the river could do with a decent dose of rain.

River starting to show it's bones now. When we stopped fishing the main Rectory pool a fish rose, two minutes later another older fish rose,no chance of catching them. We moved to the Mill pool where I went to the very top of the run and a fish turned , covered it with a Geoff Francs work horse, and felt a light suck but not sure what that was. Last time on river for a while unless we have a lot of rain

Fished as usual with BS from Brecon. Fished the main pool and Mill pool, one Shad caught in Rectory but nothing else caught, a few fish seen rising,turning

Early afternoon, Monday 1 July, Magnus Philipps caught a 6 to 8 pound cock Salmon on a trout line at the end of the neck, Rectory pool - beautiful fish and safely returned.

Andy Beattie had a very fresh 12lbs in the tail of Rock Pool . Another good fish lost after 10 mins in the Mill stream both on fly

11:00hrs Neck of the Rectory 1” Cascade. Marks on its nose very strong fish. 32” L 17”G 12lbs
