Looked at the river the night before and it was just under 2' and looking realy good for the morning, but when I got there with a rod it had gone up another 6" or so over night. Colour was still good however and it did drop back quickly during the day so I hung around and fished a bit in the late afternoon without success.

Left home early to fish a few choice spots before work. Had a tug in the main lie in the tail of Spring Pool and then in Upper Heirag a solid take that turned into a 10lb clean fish. Fish was very well behaved and thankfully when on point of going down, was able to be walked back up. Terrifying place to hook one!

Superb day, 8 brown trout with the biggest going just over 1lb. Plenty of fly life and rising fish, the difficult wading on the beat only added to the fun even if it made getting a fly out to cover a rise a tad difficult.

Got to the river early only to find it had risen over night and coloured but decided to fish anyway. What a brilliant day it turned out to be 6 Browns biggest 1 1/4lb, 1 small grayling and lost many others. Large hatches of Yellow May dun, small olives and some May fly, all fish taken on dry's.

River well coloured when we arrived but decided to fish anyway. Turned out to be a glorious afternoon. 5 wbt, 4 on nymph one on dry fly - no monsters.
Found a landing net - if owner can let booking office know details, I will arrange return.
