Not the best day, very windy almost gale force on occasions. Nevertheless, managed to land a couple of brownies circa 10>12 inches don't really know how with no hatch or rise to speak of. Good to get out on the river though. Both fish returned.

Very tough day, very windy and downstream too! Sporadic hatches of LDO and March browns. Most fish very caught using nymphs, as the emergers and duns did not stick on the surface for long.

Hazy sun. Warm all day - up to 20C. River clear and water temp. 10C. Started at 11.00am and positioned myself for march brown hatch, which happened for a short period at around 12.30pm. Caught 5 nice trout on dry march brown imitation including 17" fish. For the rest of day used dry parachute Adams with green nymph suspended and picked up fish all day until 5pm, catching a further 20 trout. A high proportion of fish caught was in the range 6-12oz, a good sign for the future.

3 wbt all returned. 1 on klinkhammer. 2 on pt nymph. 1x 1.5lb, 1x 1.25 1x 12oz. I had to work at it and found a few fish around mid pm. Sparodic hatches and rises. Not sure I totally got to grips with it as not fished this beat before. Helpful advice from booking office as ever and will mark down for future visits.

An amazing day on a big and beautiful beat. A long beat with lots of varied water. Some very still and shallow bits that would be great for dry fly if you could cast a long way. Fished a team of wets. Caught 4 BT on the GRHE (between 8oz and 1lb) mostly from the faster runs down deep. Some march Browns coming off and had two takes on the top spider just as it hit the water. One landed about 1.5 lbs, one played for a few minutes before coming off just as I put the net in the water. The lost fish was much bigger. Saw a few huge trout as I stumbled over stones and made my way upstream.
All fish WBT and returned. Will definitely fish this part of the Usk again. Great day.

Another great day at D&A. Water level up a bit on last week, lightly coloured in the morning but clearing.
One solid hatch of March Browns. 15 brown trout to 16 inches caught and returned.
