Lovely beat but nothing really moving over whole stretch. Local guide was also surprised how quiet it was. Later caught one WBT about 8in on hairs ear. Lovely place shame was a bit quiet.

This is my favorite beat for sure. Despite the water still being low, the conditions were generally good, not too hot or sunny with some cloud. I think this helped as I caught as many trout in one day as I have all season so far! One bit of bad news, more evidence of poachers. You can tell as the debris they leave behind (Carling cans and general rubbish) is always left near a deep pool where they may be salmon. I wish something could be done.

First time on this beat. Water very low and gin clear as expected. 8 small brown trout all between 6" and 10" taken on micro bead nymphs using a French leader in the faster water. Just as many salmon parr. A few bigger fish spotted, but very easily spooked.

Despite the river being low fish were rising to a sedge hatch in the morning and evening, 9 small trout caught and released no large fish seen, the river temperature is warm.

Fished remarkably well considering the low water level and hot conditions. Trout rising regularly to olives. Caught on on PTN and hares's ear and rose several fish on parachute Adams and CDC olives. All fish returned in good condition.

A lovely, but hot day. The water was very low, but plenty of trout in evidence. Very difficult fishing as the water was also gin clear. A fabulous beat though. Quite a lot of small trout caught and returned, but nothing over 8oz.

Good morning. Although the area is stunning we had some pretty poor conditions. The temperature was 27deg plus and the river was very very low. We both used dry fly throughout. The largest of the 3 was about 3/4lb, the other two were appreciably smaller. The river temp was quite high and the few fish we saw had little cover and were very skittish. Saying that the fish caught were in very good condition.
We will try again later in the season and hope for better conditions. Regards.
