Always good to see Llyn Bugeilyn appear as you drop down the last hill. Welcomed with a Northerly wind blowing down the Llyn, which combined with cold conditions meant very little fly life about. But working along from boathouse and up the left bank the trout were still looking up and usual lively takes and good fights. All bar a couple taken off top with usual small black flies, Bibio's and Hawthorns working well. Later in day a couple taken on wets, Bibio again and Haul y gwynt.
We were also given a fishing lesson by an Osprey seen diving in and making off with at least one unfortunate resident.

Enjoyed the walk in and the Llyn looked lovely. Sadly, I was not a match for the persistent light rain and strong northerly gusting wind. Managed to fish the deeper water on the sheltered north side for an hour with no sign of fish or insect life - everything was safely hunkered down, and I joined them soon!

Cold day but two misses and one to a black leech. Gate code doesn’t match that in the information delivered so had a walk in and out!

Fishing Passport Note : We did not know at the time that the code had changed. The landowner has since informed us and the beat details have been updated.

A nice day out, even the 2+ mile walk to get there. Plenty of fish rising, although not always within casing range. If you sat down quietly though, the fish would move very close to the bank. Several takes missed and several fish lost. I managed to land 4 all around 10". Successful flies were, Blue Zulu, Black Pennel and Claret Sedgehog fished static.

Driving rain and stiff wind made for a tricky three hours but well worth it. All came to black flies on or just sub surface. An amazing place and Mother Nature threw in the gift of a Hen Harrier which was extra special.

Early session to get ahead of the incoming weather. Arrived at 0630 and walked to perimeter clockwise looking for rising fish.
Saw a couple close in but no repeat risers. Used an Olive Emerger and targeted likely spots right up against the bank where most early morning insect activity was focused. Rose 3 and landed 2.

By 0900 I was almost back at the hut with the wind making things very difficult so decided to call it a day before the rain started!
