A good day as usual despite the weather. Cold and low cloud to start. Then later the wind got up and the rain came down. still the fish were willing to take. All fish fell to wet fly Bibio Zulu and sliver ivictar . over 2 dozen fish in total

Super day! Easterly wind made it a bit cold but it warmed up later.
Such a shame there is no boat especially as there is a super restored boat house.
We would always pay for a boat hire if there was one.

Cool and misty first thing brightened up mid morning.
Traditional wets not very effective today most fish came to a dry daddy or black hopper.
Sad to see line and other litter discarded by the boat house which I cleared up and took away.

All fish caught on traditional wets, with very little surface activity, and quite windy. Best fish around 3/4 lb.
In the morning I missed a very large number of fish that came short, or were lightly hooked.

My first time here, and it won't be my last! Such a beautiful tranquil place.
9 trout to the net, a few more lost or missed. Most of them were around 10 inches and perfect condition.
I was using small dry flies as the fish seamed to be eating the hoards of flying ants that were blowing onto the water. Fish rising everywhere, I really should have caught more! I have never know trout hit a dry with such aggression!
In hindsight I should have taken the car down because the track was fine. The walk back to the car definitely felt further than 2.2 miles!

First trip to this venue, hopefully not the last.
Arrive to perfect conditions, 20ish landed, many more missed or dropped. Gave up at 1.30ish, blowing a hooly.
Mix of Bibio or Bibio sedgehog.
As stated by previous anglers. the track to the lake seemed pretty good to me, but i've never seen it before.
