Fished trout "fly only" and walked down the far end of the reservoir without any success despite starting quite early. walked back to dam end by the ticket machine and fished all along that bank, but again no luck - I have a theory that if the wind is blowing into the dam then the trout don't seem to take fly. However, I've always had better luck when the wind is blowing the other way. Another blank day, but the weather was nice.

For the first time at the reservoir I saw no sign of fish activity all day

Good weather, windy and cloudy but no bites, spoke to a couple of local fishermen and they hadn't had any luck either.

Fished the bay area-had one mid morning a fish about two pound-then it went dead- a very very hot day. Moved to top end of bay on advice of bailiff and caught x 3 Golden trout on the fly all fish again aver two pound and fought hard.

Bad day for spinning, just 2 fish(1 brownie returned), fish were taking from the top, fly rod way to go, guy next to me using fly cought 3 time more. Good experience anyway.

3 Perch returned but haunted all day by the sight of those ghost coloured rainbows that stuck up two fins to every lure and worm I tried to tempt them with!
