A hard days fishing. Beautiful surroundings (if slightly marred by the amount of litter). Took a buddy fishing for the first time, he caught a rainbow and a brownie, both small, but brilliant not to blank. I didn't catch all day. Both using hard plastic lures.

Reservoir really busy with worm and bait fishermen. Most of the access occupied making fly casting difficult. Fished west shore in the morning with no luck then caught a 3lb rainbow on the east side around lunch time. Returned to west shore and another 2lb rainbow caught. A pleasnat day albeit in a crowded location with squadrons of cormorants.

No fish caught that day by myself or any of the anglers around me.

During an afternoon chat with a bailiff it appears the fishing was generally poor that day.
The weather was overcast with very little wind on the water surface but remained dry during the period in which I fished.
Fish caught were all rainbow trout of approx 2lb+ and were caught by ledgering with a floating worm.

Tried floating worm and spinner with no luck.

Caught two trout, one with silver mepps no2 and the other ledgering with a floating worm. Was a hard day and after speaking to the locals we were told we were not in the right place (first time there). Will give it another go sometime, really nice setting and well kept.

3 caught on spinner in front of the burger van. Very nice size. Best place in wales to fish.
Please consider unlimited fish ticket. Perhaps £20 for the day. Also please do something about people using 3 rods. It is not fair to genuine anglers.
