An excellent afternoons sport on Tal-y-Bont. Mild, overcast with light wind. You could not have asked for better conditions, with buzzer hatching all over the lake. The trout obliged, with many quality fish from 12 to 17 inches being caught on floating lines and long leaders. Most fish averaged around 14 inches (a pound).

A beautiful day, with plenty of trout rising just out of reach! Never mind, just good to be fishing again in the sunshine.

An evening visit after work from 5.15pm to 7.00pm. Surprisingly mild for October. Conditions almost perfect but no sign of any surface activity at all. 5 fish landed from 12 to 15 inches plus missed a few sharp takes. Used an Intermediate Airflo polyleader to bed the flies a foot or so down.

Fished from 8.30am till 1.30pm. Perfect conditions, overcast with light breeze. A few fish moving most of them far out. Best tactics were fishing a black lure on a long leader and floating line, takes were very aggressive. CT landing 7 trout to 16 inches, losing 4 including a really decent fish. RD 4 trout to 14 inches. Most fish were typical Tal y bont specimens of about 13 inch.
