Weather warm and bright and river low. Chub up to about 2lb trotting. "Other" were dace. Very little interest in a static bait apart from 2 very small barbel about half a pound each. A pleasant day, though.

Warm sunny day on a low and clear river. I Expected it to be hard going so was pleased to have caught anything. One of the chub was a good 4-41/2 lbs and took off like a barbel when I hooked it. One eel also caught.

First and last time at this fishery. Before anybody thinks of booking make sure there is enough water in the river as in this case we could have walked across entire fishery ??????? To rub salt in to the wounds 2 locals came and fished dead opposite the only "holes" we could find .They obviously were not worried about having there collars felt! Left at 2pm wasted day.

Tough going on a very low and clear river, all decent fish coming from the slightly deeper pegs on the left bank.
What is it with Wye Chub? They’re either battered old granddads or flappy teenagers, with nothing in between. Managed to catch three granddads (all on meat) and a gang of teenagers on the float.
Not too many pegs on this stretch but it has got a very nice bridge to walk across and look into the river to search for features, spot fish or play pooh sticks. Would imagine this beat would be a cracker with a few feet of extra water and a pub in the field.
Best peg for me was the one with the curly steps – not only the easiest peg to fish but very close to the car. No fish in the swim but at least I hadn’t got far to walk back, and that’s what it’s all about.

Nothing caught today... Only had three hours in the afternoon and decided to fish the right hand bank . Had a couple of tentative twitches using pellet feeder method but didn’t really find the fish.

Booked the stretch again after a decent day yesterday. Surprised to find the river rising after fine weather. This affected bait presentation but we managed to scrape a 3pound Barbel plus a good few decent chub. Disappointing after a good Thursday.
