Decided to try a maggot approach via feeder and float instead of the usual pellet feeder. Fished all of the swims in this short beat and had fish in short feeding spells throughout the day. Two new species on the Wye for me after catching a decent Grayling and also a Gudgeon !!! Also had 4 small trout parr and a dozen or so Dace. Had 9 typical Wye Chub to 4.04 and a small Barbel. River dropping off with a little colour and some drifting weed in the morning

River flowing well and coloured after rain early in week. 4 small barbel up to a couple of pounds caught within an hour in mid-afternoon. After that nothing before it got dark.

With river fining down caught 5 barbel to 9lb 7oz and 5 chub to 4lb on meat and pellet. Very swimmy though, and escalating bright sunshine slowed the fishing. Also had a huge dace trotting.

Had one Barbel about 8lb and 5 small Barbel of around 12oz. River was fining down after previous day and was fishable all day unlike previous day when weed and branches coming downstream meant I couldn't fish from around 5pm. Also caught 10 dace trotting maggot.

Rising river hampered sport, but managed a few chub on meat. Also caught seven very small barbel (up to 7 inches would you beleive). Had plenty of dace on the float on maggots to good size.

River low and clear but enjoyable day as always. Fished the far bank a little more on this visit and LD had success rolling meat for the Chub. Tried float rod for couple of hours in afternoon plenty of Chublets and Dace to maggot along with a lovely Brownie of around 1lb. Fair amount of Salmon activity along beat. Barbel was only a small fish and fell to pellet halfway along roadside bank.

Fished the last swim down stream on the road side from 3pm to 7pm with very little action. The weather was bright and sunny but the fishing was tough going... Using pellet/feeder the best I could manage was a 4 1/2lb Chub! Not a great days fishing but a lovely day to be out there.

Good colour for fishing but somewhat disappointed with this beat as mostly shallow gravel open water with no real fish holding features. Probably better in early season when more weed present and can run a float through.
Feeder fishing, then two swims on east bank(road side) probably best.
Positive is good access to water, can park near to where you fish, and countryside is very pleasant. However I personally will be crossing this off my list of WUF fisheries to visit, though seems popular with some judging by the number of well worn swims.
