I fished from 6am to 9pm. Water low and clear. Hot day. Biggest Chub 4lb 8oz. 1 Eel, no Barbel. Didn't even see one. Tried to find them with my polarised sunglasses but no luck. Fished two swims. Left bank in the middle by the stump and right side just under the bridge. Chub from both swims. Second time I've been here. I have not idea where to find Barbel here. Maybe back when the water is higher and more colored. In the afternoon 2 families arrived on canoes, stopped just in front of me and had 30 min break with children throwing stones in to the water. I have no idea if they allowed to stop anywhere? A happy and unhappy day on the river.

The fishing was hard going as expected in the sweltering heat and low river levels. We ended up with 11 chub to 3lbs and plenty of dace and chublets on feeder and waggler before retiring early to the pub. This is a lovely beat set in peaceful surroundings with good parking next to the bridge.

A roasting hot day so sat under the shade on the left hand bank a couple of swims down from the bridge. Still managed to bag a couple of Chub and three Barbel on pellets. A few people about so would suggest fish early and/or late.

I fished 2 swims and caught 1 barbel from each; parking is available next to Foy Bridge and this gives you immediate access to the river and the 220 yards of bank either side of the river. The near bank swims have also been made easily accessible with steps down to most pegs and the far bank looks suitable for wading and trotting tactics at summer water levels. A short beat with loads of potential on the right day with the right tactics (locals report catches of 20+ barbel), I don’t think I got the best out of the visit but I will return now I know what to expect and the reduced cost helps.

River very, very low and clear - 30 Degrees! Lots of canoes out of control and walkers on the Northern Bank. Nice location, needs rain.

River running low with fish taken to float and pellet. Good access to the beat and venue owner was very helpful.

A short, shallow stretch. We fished the two holes, one central from the right bank above the rock ledge, me 4 barbel, and one on the left bank below the rock ledge, BB 2 barbel.
Because of the full sun on the water we waited until the evening but in the four hours had a really good time and were sorry to pack up as it got dark.
Thanks to DB for the info of where to fish above the tree.

Very hot day, river low, clear. Didn't even seen Barbel. I tried far bank under the bridge, 1 Chub there. Close bank to the car park in the middle, 1 Chub. Tried other 2 swims but not even bite. At 10am familly of 5 came and jumped in the river on the far bank under the bridge. Not many canoes. Lost 2 rigs in the snags. Disappointing day for me, but still nice day.

What a lovely stretch of water. When we got to the water the sun was up and it was really hot, fishing was going to be hard for us we thought. We took a look round first before fishing and found that the river was running low. My mate P fished the top end and I decided to fish the very last swim on the beat, road side. I did find it hard to find a swim with a bit of depth in it as the river was running low. The bottom had a few snags in it, large rocks and due to this I lost a bit of tackle. I moved to the middle stretch, to try my hand at a bit of long trotting and ended up with three nice chub of about 4lb. P fished about 100 yards down from the bridge, road side. He had two barbel of about 5 and 7lb with about 9+ chub. All of Paul's fish were caught using the barbel bomb with pellet hook bait. There was not so many snags in P's swim. Considering the weather conditions we didn't do too bad. Parking and access is good. We had a great day many thanks.
