Postcode would have been useful - overpriced for time of year.

Not even a bite, river was low, clear and cold. Started for Pike but then saw and angler on opposite bank quiver tipping so thought there may be a chance of a Chub or even a Barbel (wishful thinking considering the conditions), switched over to feeder approach but to no avail. Lovely beat with very good access on upper half. With hindsight, I should have sat it out for Pike.

Slightly murky marginal for lure fishing. 2 takes for 8hrs casting. One was 2lb the next was a pristine 18lber - that's the Wye for you! Lure was a white shad.

The river had risen 3ft overnight. Tried different smelly baits in a couple of swims but no bites.

4 barbel to 6lb 2oz taken early on on pellets. After that, bites were very hard to come by and when they did we lost the fish. A very difficult day in what looked to be good conditions but pleasing to wet the net a few times. Highlight of the day was seeing a very large pike attack a feeder being wound in!! As darkness fell, the heavens opened for the fourth time that day and we started the long walk from the bottom of the beat back to the car. Still, a day on the Wye beats any other day! Thanks WUF.

River looked perfect when I arrived. Fished 4 different swims, including boys rocks but with no success. Had the biggest eel I have ever caught which could go down as a personal best, or worst but it at least got the heart going for a few seconds until I realized what I had hooked.
will get back next summer for sure.
